Minimalist Frandsen 2000-B desk lamp, made by Danish manufacturer Frandsen in 1988. A striking example of functional Danish design, in which the mechanics are deliberately part of the design.
The long arm balances around the central pivot point, making the lamp especially flexible to use. The cylindrical shade is also rotatable in all directions, allowing the light to be directed with great precision. The combination of off-white and aluminium details gives the lamp a calm, almost architectural appearance.
Attractive as a desk or reading lamp, but its distinctive minimalist design also makes it a striking object in its own right.
This example has the original Frandsen stickers on the underside of the base.
